Milwaukee Bucks defeat Phoenix Suns to win NBA Championship

The Milwaukee Bucks are officially the champions of the 2020-21 NBA season. They defeated the Phoenix Suns 105-98 Tuesday night. This is their first championship since 1971 when Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson helped the Bucks beat the Baltimore Bullets.

Bucks All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo played a sensational game 6 as he did all series. He showed why he is a two-time MVP as he put up 50 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 blocks. His defense caused chaos for the Suns the entire game. Giannis was named the Finals MVP for his play this series.

Kris Middleton scored 17 points and Jrue Holiday had a team-high 11 assists. Bobby Portis provided a spark off the bench for the Milwaukee Bucks scoring 16 points and playing excellent defense down the stretch.

The Suns were in the game the entire time despite a quiet night from Devin Booker who finished the game with 19 points. They were led by Chris Paul who finished with 26 points on 11-19 shooting.

After the game, Giannis was very emotional. He has been the recipient of a lot of scrutiny for not winning an NBA Championship as a two-time NBA MVP. He was determined to stay in Milwaukee and win a championship with the team that drafted him.

After the game, Giannis said some strong words about super teams during the press conference.

“I could go to a super team … but this is the hard way to do it, and we did it. We f—ing did it.”

This was a historic performance by Giannis Antetokounmpo. He joins Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon as the only players in NBA history to win a regular-season MVP Award, a Finals MVP Award, and a Defensive Player of the Year Award.

In an NBA world where everyone is teaming up to win a championship, this is the best thing for parity across the league.
